Dr. Theodore H. Bowlus was elected Commissioner for the term commencing January 3, 2017. Prior to becoming Commissioner, Dr. Bowlus served on the Eastwood School District Board of Education and is a past president of the Wood County Board of Health. He is also a past president and former National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) board member. Dr. Bowlus holds degrees from Western Michigan University and the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He earned his doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He has participated in several medical mission trips and helped rebuild homes in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. He and his wife Lois reside in Center Township.
